Letter from Joseph Langland to Judith G. Wood Langland
Description:
Shifting around too much lately to receive mail. Beautiful spring with views of well-cultivated fields: "But you can take one look around and know that those Heinies will start manufacturing and inventing stuff right off the bat the moment we leave the alone. I hope that is not for a long time. Except for the US, Germany is the most modern country we have been in... Don't think that Hitler is only the cause of this thing. there is something serious and determined about the whole German people, the kids and women around here included... We liove with people who helped run concentration camps and worked in the V1 and V2 factories, and I see enough of them every day... too much of them, in fact." Glad to hear of the capture of Augsburg; German soldiers are being picked up daily, most in civilian clothes.
