Title (alt.):
- I don't want your ticket....... the expiration date is the 15th of June and the world is supposed to end on the 13th!....... Charivari
Description:
A man refuses the other's ticket, thinking that the world will end soon due to the impending arrival of a comet. There exists a third state of this print, not described by Hazard or Delteil. It was shown in the Daumier exhibition of the Bibliothèque Nationale in 1934 in Paris under nr. 286. THE COMETS. The return of the comet Charles-Quint was predicted for June 13, 1857. It was expected to hit the earth and the end of the world was foreseen.
