The document was written on June 24th (of 1771 or 1775- not clear) by committeemen Nehemiah Cutter, Ebenezer Swan, and Walter(?) Russell. It is a notice requiring a parish meeting on July 1st at 5pm. The tasks required for the meeting (numbered 1-2) were to first choose a collector; this first task includes a mention of James Perry but the reason why is unclear as the text is slightly illegible. The second task was to know what the inhabitants think about sinking some taxes in several of the collector's lists in order to make up with the treasurers. It is unclear if this last task will involve the precinct clerk, William Whittemore or if the entire notice was for him. The reverse seems to include a signature on the bottom right of the page. The overall format of this document is different to other town meeting notices in our collection.
