After the Americans bombed her village Ngo Thi Tan lived in a tunnel for two months, where she gave birth to her son. She talks about daily life in the tunnel, that there was no food or clothes and very little water, and that she would occasionally try to sneak out to gather food and firewood in order to feed her children.
