Protesters carry signs in both Chinese and English that read, "NEMC: No Entry for your Motor Cars"; "Vote No Garage on Community Land -Parcel C"; "BRA: Build Recklessly and Aimlessly"; and, "Vote. Let the People Decide on NEMC's [New England Medical Center's] garage proposal on PARCEL C! Vote in the Chinatown Referendum Sunday, Sept. 12, 1993, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, Chinese Merchant's Building, 20 Hudson Street. Monday, Sept. 13, 1993, 8:00 am - 7 pm, Quincy Elementary School, 885 Washington Street." Other protesters hold banner a that says "No Garage on Oak St." Mayoral candidate Bruce C. Bolling is in some of the images with the banner.
