The Boston Rainbow Coalition gave a leadership award to the Committee to Support Long Guang Huang. In 1985, the Chinese Progressive Association's Committee to Support Long Guang Huang successfully launched a campaign for justice for Huang, a victim of police brutality. Huang was eventually awarded a settlement of $85,000 by the City of Boston in 1989.
