Banner with the "Principles of Unity," hanging in the auditorium of the Josiah Quincy School at the 27th anniversary celebration of the People's Republic of China. Written in both English and Chinese, the banner reads: "Principles of Unity, 1. Promote Education about Socialist China; 2. Demand the U.S. Gov't Implement the Shanghai Communique and Normalize Relations with China; and 3. Build Friendship Between the Peoples of the U.S. and China." This celebration was held on Sept. 26, 1976; the actual anniversary of the establishment of People's Republic of China was Oct. 1, (1949).
