Title (alt.):
Charivari. A FIXED PRICE DINNER. Here's a restaurant owner who does things the big way..... for our 32 sous, he provided us with a stomach ache that will cost twenty francs per person to cure!
Description:
This series depicts the influx of tourists from abroad and the French provinces who came to Paris to visit the Exposition of 1844. It shows how the merchants of Paris very often took advantage of the helplessness and inexperience of these travelers on their first trip to the capital.
