McCormack is pleased that Townsend was victorious over DeVicenzo and Yancey. McCormack makes a case for Townsend not to play in South Africa, and instead going directly home following the Metalcraft Tournament then returning to commence play on the U. S. Tour. Once McCormack has gotten a better idea of the U. S. contract situation, he can help Townsend to finalize his plans. He wishes Townsend the best of luck in the New Zealand Open.
