Lorch's formal refusal to discuss with the Un-American Activities Committee his past political views and associations; asserting the rights to privacy of the private citizen and other liberties guaranteed by the Bill of Rights; and urging "any citizen who cherishes our country's liberties ... to resist these would-be tyrants of thought control."
