Two wheeled seeder with a compartment and gear system, model No. 3 from Planet Jr. The compartment has some writing that probably reads "USA --- PLANET JR --- No. 3." On the handles the name and logo are written again. There is also some writing in French stating that the item was made in the USA. Also written is "No. 17269 de 8de Octobre 1919," which was possibly the date it was made. Planet Jr. made various agricultural tools, and item looks similar to seeders displayed in their 1922 catalog. The wheels and mechanisms are all made of metal. The front wheel has a diameter of 15" and the back wheel has a diameter of 7.5". Between the wheels, facing the ground, is a blade 3.5" long. Behind the blade are two hooks facing the back back wheel. Above the blade is a box about 6.5" deep that has an opening at the bottom on the right side. The lid is connected to the box on the front wheel side and is painted green inside. On the outside of the box, on the side facing the back wheel, is a pattern of three ovals. The handles are 51" long and are made of wood. They are labeled left and right, and various other information is also painted on them. About 7.5" from their end is a wooden crossbar; hanging from the crossbar on a piece of wire is a small wrench. The right handle has a hook that can be pulled, that appears to be attached to the mechanisms by a spring.
