Surface: flat, uneven, rough, soft with loose sand and stones 2 in. deep material: sand and gravel on rubble stone foundation sides: right, grass bank, gradual slope up, left, grass bank, gradual slope up gutters: right, none, left, none sidewalks: right, none, left, 3 ft wide, 4 ft. above travelled way. Remarks: Surface water drains into road then runs down the hill causing severe washouts. Photograph accompanies the Report of the Commission to Improve the Highways of the Commonwealth, 1893.
