Soft, loose gravel, ruts 10 in. deep material: loamy gravel on ledge base sides: right, slopes down into gutter, left, grass bank slopes up natural slope gutters: right, 18 in. deep, left, none sidewalks: right, none, left, none. Remarks: A very poor road, for ruts are so deep surface water will not drain off. Photograph accompanies the Report of the Commission to Improve the Highways of the Commonwealth, 1893.
