People are jumping into an already full swimming pool, injuring others in the process. This print shows the "Bain à Quatre Sous" (the pool for 20 cents), a favourite summer recreation because of its low entrance fee. The crowded living circumstances in Paris could hardly be illustrated better than in this print.
