The document was written on February 23rd by committee-man John Cutter. It is a notice requiring the constable of the northwest precinct of Cambridge, Ebenezer Eliott, to notify freeholders and inhabitants of the area as well as those of Charlestown, who are qualified to vote, to attend a town meeting. The meeting would take place at the meetinghouse on March 2nd at 1pm. The tasks required for the meeting (numbered 1-4) were to choose precinct officers for the following year; to increase Reverend Samuel Cooke's salary and to grant a sum of money to cover charges arising in the precinct; to know what the inhabitants think about repairing the meetinghouse; and to know what the inhabitants think about what they should do with the money of the precinct. A response was required on or before the date for the meeting. The reverse contains a short response from Ebenezer Eliott that he has notified the proper parties. Dated March 2nd.
