This hand-colored lantern slide shows a five Springfield College students standing around a sundial that used to be located behind Alumni Hall, pictured behind the students. Beneath the image is a caption: “Five continents contributed to this student group about the sun-dial between McLean Terrace, Alumni Hall, and Massasoit Lake. Students representing sixteen countries are at present matriculated at the College.” This lantern slide is part of a series called "The Story of the Cinema of Springfield College." Its alternate title is “Being the Story of a Young Man who elects to go to Springfield College.” The presentation was likely given during the 1930s and included images of campus buildings, faculty, and students engaged in athletic and cultural activities.
