Portrait of Henri D. Haskins, Chief of Laboratory, Fertilizer Control Service, Massachusetts State College. He was born December 27, 1870 in North Amherst, MA; received a B.Sc. at Massachusetts Agricultural College in 1890; was Assistant Chemist, Massachusetts Agricultural Experiment Station, 1890-95; was a chemist from 1908 and served the campus for almost 50 years. In the 1963 Index, it stated that Mr. Haskins was the "oldest living alumnus", 93 years old, and living in an Amherst nursing home. He was a Laboratory and Fertilizer Chemist, a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and "wrote scores of bulletins in his field". He celebrated his 93rd birthday on December 27, 1962.
