"Chicago Week In Review has been a Chicago television news staple for 22 years. Four journalists dissect the week's top local stories with Joel Weisman, a veteran moderator and commentator both in print (Chicago Sun-Times, Washington Post) and on television (WGN-TV and WTTW). Chicago Week in Review guests are working journalists from both broadcast and print, selected for their expertise and actual coverage of the stories discussed. The show also periodically covers the media itself, as evidenced by our sports coverage show. 1/30/99 Another program examined the power failure that caused repeated blackouts in downtown Chicago. 8/7/99 A third show delved into the Rev. Jesse Jackson's battle with the Decatur School Board over the expulsions of six African-American students accused of starting a violent fight at a high school football game. 11/20/99 Another program covered the record-setting winter storm that brought the city to a virtual standstill last January. 1/9/99 The last show is our annual 'Year Ahead' program in which our veteran guests gazed into their crystal balls to predict what's to come. 1/2/99"--1999 Peabody Awards entry form.
