Regarding a White theater manager who would not let Negroes into his theater except when the theater was in financial trouble. Only then did he let them in for two "Colored Shows". They were kept segregated from the Whites and had to pay higher admission prices. The writer of the letter felt that "every Negro who attended lacked...self respect and race pride."
