Portrait. Note on back, 'James Kellogg Mills was born December 20, 1857 at Davenport, Iowa. He received the degree of Bachelor of Science from the Massachusetts Agricultural College in 1877. Rancher, New Mexico, 1877-78; florist Denver, Colo. 1879. Theatrical business, 1880-1881. From 1882-83 he had charge of an estate at Wellesley, Mass. From 1884 to 1902 he was engaged in the theatrical business and came to Amherst in 1902 where he became a well-known photographer. He died November 1, 1925 at Amherst.'
