Description:
John Farrar Giles (Class of 1916?), who enlisted in the war in August 1917 as a member of Company C, 102d Infantry, 26th Division. He sailed for France in October 1917 and was killed in action at Seicheprey in April 1918. He was the first Massachusetts Agricultural College man to be killed in action while serving in the American Army. "J. F. Giles" handwritten on front. "Giles, John F. (1916-SP)" handwritten on back. "M.A.C. Collection, Library of the Massachusetts Agricultural College, Amherst, Mass." stamped on back.
