Description:
Military portrait of Arthur Victor Petit (Class of 1918), who enlisted in the war in September 1917 and was a member of Company H, 30th Infantry, 3d Division. He sailed for France in April 1918 and fought at Cha^teau-Thierry, St. Mihiel, Verdun and in the Argonne. He died of pneumonia on January 8, 1919 at Base Hospital No. 8, Savenay, France. "A.V. Petit, '18" written on front. "M.A.C. Collection" and "Library of the Massachusetts Agricultural College, Amherst, Mass." stamped on back.
