This ambrotype, taken on 7 July 1858, depicts Ralph Farnham, a Revolutionary War veteran and resident of Acton, Maine, on his 102nd birthday. During the final years of his life, Farnham was celebrated in Boston and across the country as the last survivor of the Battle of Bunker Hill and one of the few living veterans of the Revolutionary War.
