Born in West Cambridge (now Belmont) April 4, baptized April 11, 1773, by Rev. Samuel Cooke. Died Feb. 2, 1852. Married Oct. 11, 1796, Anne Adams of West Cambridge. He was a large land-owner and carried on successfully the farm and market-garden of his estate. He was Selectman of West Cambridge in 1808. Assessor in 1817-'19. One of the School Committee in 1823-'26. Was admitted to the Second Precinct church (now the Arlington Unitarian) Oct. 14, 1798, and was a constant attendant all his life. He was president of the West Cambridge Musical Society in 1808, '09, '10 and '14. Sang in the church choir for 30 years. Harriet A. Hill Belmont Feb. 16, 1928."
