Holocaust survivor Hersch Altman discusses his experiences during the Holocaust as part of the Philip N. Backstrom Survivor Lecture Series held during Northeastern University's annual Holocaust Awareness Week. Altman, originally from Poland, spent time in a ghetto and hid in the woods with partisans, and was the only one in his family to survive. He also gives an overview of the Holocaust and speaks about his impetus for sharing this history and the challenges of doing so.
