Patient Michael Kaplan with new company car at Christmas
Description:
Caption reads, "Santa Claus paid a bountiful pre-Christmas visit to the Institute for the Crippled and Disabled today (Dec. 23) with a gift of a 1955 Chevrolet station wagon. Santa Claus, in this case, was Mr. Francis J. Sorg (left), President, Sorg Printing Company. The vehicle will be used in the rehabilitation of the seriously handicapped who must be transported from their homes and hospitals throughout the city to the Institute. Seriously handicapped Michael Kaplan, age 4, an Institute patient, accepted the toy Santa Claus which held the golden keys to the vehicle. With him, also above, is Oliver B. Jennings, board member and secretary, who represented the trustees and staff of the Institute."
