Exterior view of the Tufts House, corner of Prospect and Chelsea Sts., Charlestown
Description:
This exterior view from the intersection of Prospect Street and Chelsea Streets shows the Nathan Tufts house, its terraced lawns, and stables in Charlestown, Boston, Massachusetts. A widows' walk surmounts the roof of the two-story house. Just past the stable of the house on Prospect Street is the Frothingham School. A primary school in the Boston Public Schools system, it was built in 1874 and was named in honor of Richard Frothingham, who was a mayor of Charlestown, historian, and state legislator.
