Karl Nickerson Llewellyn was a prominent American jurisprudential scholar. He joined the Columbia Law School in 1925 and was a major proponent of legal realism. Hollace Ransdell was a teacher, journalist, activist, and worked with the ACLU. In this letter, Llewellyn informs Ransdell that he has now received the Edgerton article on the Lowell report. He also references other key figures of the Sacco-Vanzetti deference: John Dewey, William E. Dixon, Gardner Jackson, and Morris Ernst. Llewellyn notes all the documents he has pertaining to the Lowell Report. At the end of the letter, he wrote the following text "This will now serve as a confirmation of conversation."
