Beginning in January 1897 as a part of the International Association Training School Notes, the Association Outlook was published from October 1897 through July 1900. It was eventually, after a year hiatus, replaced by the Association Seminar in October, 1901. The Association Outlook replaced or, rather, expanded the Training School Notes which was first published in February 1892. The Training School Notes continued as a section within the Association Outlook, listing events and activities at the International YMCA Training School, now Springfield College, as well as news on and from the Alumni of the school. The main focus of the Association Outlook was intended for those “…who are interested in religious work for young men in general, and the Young Men’s Christian Association in particular. It aims at the leaders rather than the members of the movement.” Articles for the publication were written by members of the faculty of the school as well as members of the YMCA outside of the school. Luther Halsey Gulick was the editor and manager of the publication.
