A photograph of Springfield College track and field athlete Donald A. Fredericks, class of 1968, perfomring a broad jump with his arms in the air. This appears to have been taken during a victory against UMass in the spring of 1968. Fredericks also competed in the high hurdles and sprints. There are people around him watching as he jumps in the air.

Notes:
The first coach of the Springfield College track and field team was Louis Schroeder in 1915. He coached the team for 2 seasons before Paul Otto took over as head coach. Otto coached the team for 5 seasons from 1920 until 1924. Following Otto was Jack Rothacher who coached the team for 13 seasons from 1925 until 1937. The team was then coached by Les Judd and then Vern Cox, before Ken Klatka took over as head coach in 1977. Klatka currently remains as the head coach today and has coached for 37 seasons as of 2013.
