After a three hundred mile journey they have arrived in Rouen. It was not a pleasant journey since it rained and they had to fix two punctures. Somewhere along the journey he lost the blanket that Letty made for him, he thinks it was stolen out of the car when they stopped for the night. They have a new Cadillac car that they will use since they are expected to do considerable travelling. They will be going to hospitals throughout the Northern part of France paying the wounded Americans. Nick could have stayed in Tours with the financial branch and then he would have had a promotion in a few weeks, but he wanted to travel around France in a Cadillac. It is not a bad job for a Corporal but he doesn't like that all the fellows he knows have higher ranks than him. There was a celebration in Rouen when Germany signed the armistice, the war should be over soon.
