Today has been cold and dreary, so Nick has been inside most of the day thinking about Letty. He has been enjoying himself lately, he and the other fellows sit around the fire playing dominoes and listening the orchestra every night. Nick's application for a commission was submitted on November 10th, 1918 so he thinks it might be to late for a promotion. He is supposed to go on a trip soon but the weather is getting colder so he would rather not be travelling around in an automobile.
