Diary from 1863 but the cover says 1856. Hand corrected throughout for accurate date. No clear author. Small red leather book with cover flap that tucks into a tab. Embossed in gold with "DIARY 1856" Small amount of space for each day due to size of book and three dates on each page. All filled in pencil. Appears to be Susanna Adams Winn - repeated references to "sister" comings and goings with family members, painting, etc. Juvenile writing style. Susie was 11 on this date.
