Interview with Hattie Kelton conducted by Sari Roboff about community life around living on the “back” of Mission Hill and plans for housing development in the area. She had lived in the Bromley-Heath public housing development for seventeen years. Kelton talks about the knocking down of houses that occurred after 1965 and expresses her desire for the success of the new housing development projects. Other interview topics include various schools in Jamaica Plain, Ruggles Baptist Church, the Lahey Clinic, Peoples Baptist Church (Roxbury, MA), the Head Start program, a Christmas party, United Baptist Church, Pioneer Store, the Boston Redevelopment Authority, volunteering at the Mission Hill food co-op, and Resthaven, a formerly black, now integrated, nursing home in Mission Hill.
