MATOISERIES CHAMPÊTRES. - Comme ça, ta pauvre femme est morte... - Oui ... à la tienne !
Title (alt.):
COUNTRY PLEASANTRIES. - And so, your poor wife is dead... - Yes ... to your health !. Journal Amusant
Description:
A visitor discusses the death of his friend's wife. The latter raises his glass in a toast to his dead wife. This print has not been recorded in Hazard's work catalogue of 1904. Similar to the series “Les bons bourgeois” the Croquis Parisiens are dealing with numerous small misfortunes in the life of the Parisians. They were especially impressed by the possibilities opened by the railroad. Travels to the surroundings and the French province were both exciting and startling experiences.
