Marie Jean Pierre Flourens (1794-1867) wrote "De la longévité humaine et de la quantité de vie sur le globe" ("Age and Longevity and Quantity of Life on our Globe"). He predicted that men could live to 200 years under the right conditions as judged by his studies of animal lifespans.
