'This is my son's Alternative School class in second grade. We loved the Alternative School because it required the constant and regular participation of parents and families. Both my wife and I volunteered regularly in the classroom teaching units on jazz musicians, great artists, architecture and slave poetry. Our children thrived in this highly partnered and participatory educational experience. Austin Dill, our son, ended up performing MacBeth in his last year at the school, which may have started his interest in theater and film and led him to New York City's Tisch School of Film where he is soon to graduate!
