A human rainbow on the steps of the Unitarian Church of Sharon
Description:
'Each Spring the Unitarian Church of Sharon designates one service to celebrate diversity. This Rainbow Sunday Service focuses on topics of human sexuality, same-sex marriage and related themes. At the end of the service we gather on the steps of the church in our rainbow-colored clothes and form a human rainbow (red-orange-yellow-green-blue-indigo-violet spectrum). It is a highlight of the year for all generations, and is followed by a party with cake, music and balloons. In conjunction with this event, each Spring a contingent of church members march in the annual Boston Gay Pride Parade along with dozens of other U.U. churches throughout the region. Pictured: Over 100 members of the Unitarian Church of Sharon, mixed generations.'
