'As the town historian, I try to collect as much history about my town as I can. This is an aerial photo of the Halifax Garden Company, located on Garden Road. This enterprise was founded in September 1905. It was one of the town's most prosperous businesses. When it first started up a number of the hothouses were used for the growing of lettuce and cucumbers and English violets. Later on, only roses and carnations were grown there. The company bought 300 acres along the railroad tracks there. These tracks can be seen on the far left side in the photo. This area is now the parking lot for the town's railroad station.'
