Captain Frank Quirk, Jr., hero on board pilot boat 'Can Do'
Description:
'Frank E. Quirk, Sr. was a navigator in the Merchant Marines. His son inherited his father's love of the sea. From a young boy he would master all of the skills needed to be an excellent, confident mariner, ever able and willing to come to the aide in need of those who sailed the waters. Captain Quirk was one of the first SCUBA divers on the North Shore in the 1950s. Pictured, from left to right: Frank E. Quirk, Jr. and Frank E. Quirk, Sr.'
