'Although my own family came to Lexington only 6 years ago, the feeling of community and deep history of the families that have built this community are impressive to me. It occurred to me that my family of immigrants has established a larger presence here in Lexington than I'd ever realized. Pictured are a grandmother with her grandchildren, great-uncle (OK so he's honorary, he actually lives in Arlington) with his brother-in-law's grandchildren, and a bunch of first, second and third cousins, by blood or marriage. Not pictured: at least two other 'camera shy' families. Pictured, from left to right: my husband Alvin Wen, myself Alexandra Moellmann, Ruth Liu, Chester Liu, Judy Lai, my son Daniel Wen, my mother Gisela Moellmann, my daughter Karina Wen, Caleb Liu (on lap), Joshua Liu, and John Lai.'
