'Bakery from 1957-1997 (40 years). My family owed Dorothy Jean's Bakery in Stoughton. Dorothy being my sister - I'm Jean. Parents Henry and the late Dorothy (Benoit) Rogers. Both my brothers Paul and Mark worked there. It was truly a family-run business. I think we were best known for our cakes with lemon filling and our special occasion cakes but we also sold cookies, breads, rolls, donuts, pastry--all fresh, no preservatives. Our bakery donated many products to the community and made contributions to various organizations (heart fund cake etc.) We hired local teenagers throughout the years, especially multiple ""pan boys"" because no one wanted that job. Almost everywhere I go someone knows somebody that worked at Dorothy Jean's. When I worked there so did all of my friends and I can honestly say when the boss was away we did play. Those times were among the best memories of my life. Pictured: Dorothy Rogers, my mom, in the white tank top walking to store.'
