'Martin Rogers was my great-grandfather (on my mother's side). His youngest daughter Evelyn, who died in 2008 was my grandmother. Martin was born in 1867 to Mary McCoul and Michael Rogers in County Clare, in the town of Derravoe. He immigrated to the U.S, on September 3, 1896 and married Elizabeth M. Noonan on November 21, 1906. Like me, Martin demonstrated great artistic ability. With his brothers, Cornelius and John, he worked at a brass foundry (Roger's Brass Foundry in Boston) which was co-owned by all three. In my classroom (teacher at East Braintree Middle School), I have a brass bust of Abraham Lincoln he created which I received after my grandmother died. It [this picture] is one (if not the only) of Martin Rogers, born October 3, 1867,--my great-grandfather that exists today. It is a restoration of an oil painting. Pictured: Martin Rogers.'
