'This was my husband's paternal grandparents' homestead, now my home. It was purchased by Eben and Harriet Knowles Chapman in 1862. Their sons, Reuben (my husband's grandfather) and Joe, operated the Capman Brothers General Store and Post Office, shown on 1880 Census at 6A/Ellis Island Road. Home still in family. Presently Stuart Chapman Anson, my husband. The old homestead and land to the beach is still all owned by varied descendents of Reuben and Elizabeth Harden Chapman. The homestead itself is shown in varied town records to 1790=1800? dates. Location: 2963 Main Street (present-day address).'
