'Ling Chin's husband and son were apprehended and confessed to being 'paper sons' with different identities. US Immigration took away their citizenship because of false and invalid applications. Mrs. Chin learned English and got her citizenship and reapplied to renew her husband and son's lost citizenship status. Mrs. Chin learns English to get a citizenship to regain her husband and son's lost citizenship after the husband was apprehended and confessed to being a 'Paper Son.' The US Immigration Service took away her husband and son's citizenship status as their application process was considered false and invalid. Upon gaining her own citizenship after two attempts, Mrs. Chin was then able to apply for her husband and son to renew their lost citizenship status.
