Hugh P. Baker (President, Mass. State College, 1933-1947) standing to the far right with a group of men and women outside the UMass campus' Botanical Museum, which was later destroyed by fire in 1967. A plaque on the building reads, "Botanical Museum - One of five original buildings - 1867 - It also contained a lecture room and the President's office". A sign reading "Department of Physics" is also attached to the building. "New Service, University of Massachusetts, Amherst, Mass." stamped on back.
