Description:
Withdrawing memberships and appointments from the Mental Health Association in Sand Diego County's Membership Committee, the Parents of Adult Schizophrenics San Diego Membership Committee and the San Diego County Task Force on Mental Health supervised by Jim Bates. Justifying her departure from these groups which claim to promote the health and safety of patients but end up alienating them from their own "treatment". Stressing the importance of centering the individual in their own care instead of "objectifying" pain through labeling systems such as the DSM codes used by the American Psychiatric Association. Condemning the corporate financial incentivizing of practices such as forced drugging and institutionalization. Lamenting her role as an "articulate anomaly" used to perpetuate the suffering of others.
