Chamberlin discusses the issues she still has with Phyllis Chesler's "Women and Madness" which is about women and mental health. Chamberlin takes issue with the fact that Chesler and other feminist therapists claim the right to speak for mentally ill women instead of leaving that to members of the psychiatric survivor movement. She talks about the uneasy history between feminism and the psychiatric survivor movement and what she calls the myth of evidence for mental illness being caused by genetics. Chamberlin believes that Chesler and other feminist therapists deny psychiatric survivor's their anger and the ability to give voice to their suffering the same way that men have done to women.
