'Our grandmother Germaine Boncel Creeden met her husband in Paris, France during WWI and he sent for her when she was 18. She arrived in New York and married Henry Creeden at St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York. He brought her to his hometown of Brockton where they started their life. She lost her husband at a young age and had a strong allegiance to Brockton. Waited at Almy's and volunteered for the American Red Cross as a Grey Lady. All the while teaching my mom to believe in education, hard work, and family as they both taught Confraternity of Christian Doctrine (CCD) and volunteered together helping build a 'better city' my mom said, by living in faith, love, and family.'
