'Three 'interpreters' of 17th-century Plymouth are standing in the recreated 1627 Pilgrim Village at Plimoth Plantation. The costumed role-playing program was a deep immersion into early colonial history and was an intense bonding experience for many of the young people who worked there. It inspired me professionally and personally: I went on to earn a PhD in American History from Brown University, and married my co-worked Ted J. Curtin after role-playing husband and wife John and Priscilla Alden with him in the Village! Paul Cripps went on to become head of Plymouth County Convention and Visitors Bureau and Destination Plymouth, and a beloved, respected figure in the Massachusetts travel-tourism industry, until his untimely death in February 2019.
